History

Timeline of the Library creation and denomination  :

• 1975 – 1984: Library Section;
• 1985 – 1992: Documentation and Information Service;
• 1993 – current: Library and Biomedical Information Service – SBiB/ICB.

With a highly valuable collection featuring rare works, many of them unique in Brazil, SBiB  maintains technical, bibliographic and informational resources in support to teaching and research activities in the biomedical community.
