The local user category is available for students and researchers who are not formally enrolled in academic activities, but who have some type of relationship with ICB/USP, like educational activities and participation in research projects. The main requirement to be a local user is to have an active professor from the Institute who will be responsible for the bibliographic material borrowed from the ICB Library, including the Laboratory Notebook.

In order to request registration as a local user at the Library, you should send a digital copy of the following documents to bibsau@icb.usp.br:

• Declaration of Application for Registration as a Local User, completed and signed by the ICB professor responsible for the user;
• ID;
• Proof of current residence.

After sending the documentation, the user will be notified,by e-mail about they are authorized to borrow bibliographic material.

Categories accepted as a local user:

• special student;
• ICB specialization;
• scientific initiation and pre-initiation;
• pre-entry into graduate school;
• external graduate student;
• researcher and visiting professor;
• postgraduate and scientific initiation interns;
• improvement and updating student;
• professional practice;
• special undergraduate and graduate exchange student;
• student of the Open University Program for the 3rd Age.

Important notes:

• Registration as a local user is not allowed for students of diffusion courses;
• Local users may only take materials from the ICB/USP Library;
• Materials that are not returned ou damaged by the user must be replaced by the ICB Professor responsible for that user.
